Wall Street closed broadly lower on Wednesday as a sudden geopolitical escalation in the Middle East sparked fresh inflation fears and drove the 10-year Treasury yield to a 52-week high of 4.81%. The Dow Jones shed 0.77% to close at 52,380.66, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell 0.48% (7,636.36) and 0.64% (26,253.34), respectively. Small-caps took the hardest hit as the Russell 2000 dropped 1.32% to 2,921.234, and the VIX climbed 4.71% to 16.46 as investors braced for a potential rate hike from the Kevin Warsh-led Federal Reserve.
