US equities closed out the week in the red as markets digested a hawkish Jackson Hole debut from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, who prioritized a firm 2% PCE target over a cooling labor market. His remarks sent the 10-year yield toward 4.70% and overshadowed a BLS benchmark revision showing 79,000 fewer jobs created from March 2025 to March 2026. The Dow Jones closed essentially flat at -0.02% (53,559.99), the S&P 500 dipped -0.25% (7,711.76), and the Nasdaq fell -0.52% (26,402.424). The rate-sensitive Russell 2000 took the heaviest hit, shedding -1.39% (2,972.372), while the VIX edged down -0.55% to 14.43.
Sectors in focus:

Radio & TV Broadcasting & Communications Equipment was today's worst performer, plunging -9.19%. Elsewhere in the commodity complex, WTI Crude slipped -0.23% to 83.34.
